If you are looking for us, we are right in the YMS Complex on Mathikere Tankshal Road. The easiest way to find the place is to look for the Udupi Hotel next door. You can usually smell the sambar and fresh vada from our desk in the mornings. It is a busy little stretch of road, especially when the big buses go by. Our office isn’t very big, just a couple of desks pushed together and some maps pinned to the wall that have faded a bit over the years. We have got a landline that rings quite a lot, and someone is usually here to pick it up unless we have stepped out for a quick bite. The chairs are a bit mismatched, but they are comfortable enough for a short wait. Mathikere is always moving, and we are right in the middle of it. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit by the window until it comes back on. It is a straightforward setup. We do not have a big lobby with a TV or anything like that. People come in, tell us where they need to go, and we look at the schedules. It is more about the conversation than anything else. We have been here long enough that the shopkeepers nearby are all friends. It feels like home even when the traffic outside gets a bit too loud for comfort. We just keep things moving and help people with their travel plans.
