Mayur Novelty Store

Mayur Novelty Store is sitting right at 574 near the water tank in Basaveshwara Nagar. That water tank is a huge help for people who are trying to find us for the first time. We have all the usual stuff you’d expect in a novelty shop like toys and stationery and little things for the house. The shelves go all the way to the ceiling so we keep a small ladder handy to reach the top rows. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze when the shop is full of people but nobody seems to mind too much. We’ve been in this neighborhood for years and we know most of the families who live on the nearby streets. It feels good when people come in and we already know what they are looking for before they even ask. We don’t really do any big promotions or sales, we just keep the prices fair and the doors open. In the mornings it’s usually quiet so we use that time to sweep the floor and organize the displays that got messed up the day before. By evening it gets quite hectic with everyone stopping by on their way home. We just keep working until it’s time to pull down the shutters and head home ourselves. It’s a local shop run by local people and that is just fine with us.
