It is a bit of a tight spot on the lane, but we have been working out of here for a long time now. The street outside is usually full of people going about their daily business. You can always hear the rickshaws passing by and the occasional cow wandering around. It is just a normal local eatery without any of the fancy stuff. We don’t have expensive decorations or those big bright lights you see in the city malls. The walls are just a plain color and the tables are made of sturdy wood. Most of our hours go into the kitchen or out front chatting with the regulars. Sometimes the humidity in Howrah gets to be a bit much, especially in the afternoons when the stove is going. We just open the windows and keep things moving. Becharam Chaudhry Lane has its own rhythm that you get used to after a while. We aren't trying to be anything special or modern. We just cook the food and serve it to whoever walks through the door at 2, Becharam Chaudhry Lane. Running a restaurant here is a simple life. We see the same familiar faces every morning when we open up. Being in Ghasbagan feels like home for us. We just keep the floor swept and the pots cleaned. It isn't a glamorous job, but it is what we do.
