Maruthi Clothing Co is tucked away at 7/D, right near the Vijaya Bank in Motilal Nagar No 2. This part of Mahadevapura on MG Road is usually humming with activity. We’ve been in this spot for a long time. Our setup is pretty simple. It’s just a ground-floor space where we do all our cutting and stitching. It’s not the quietest place, especially with the bank traffic nearby, but we like the energy of the neighborhood. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, and the floor is a bit worn down from all the foot traffic. We aren't a big company with a fancy board of directors. It’s just a handful of us who know our way around a sewing machine. We spend most of our time at our stations. Often, you’ll see piles of fabric waiting to be processed near the back door. We don't use any complicated systems to run things. We just write things down in our ledgers and get to work. It’s a very hands-on type of business. If you come by, you’ll likely find us in the middle of a project, probably with threads stuck to our shirts. We like being part of the Motilal Nagar community. Most of the people around here know us by name. We just try to do a solid day’s work and head home. It’s a straightforward life for us here in Mahadevapura.
