Manorama Polyclinic

Manorama Polyclinic is over at 11 Vijaya Nagar, right in the 560040 zip code area. The building is a standard one for this part of town, and we’ve been operating out of this spot for a good while. Every morning, one of us comes in to sweep the front area and get the lights turned on before the first people arrive. The waiting room isn't huge, so when five or six people are inside, it starts feeling pretty full. We have some old magazines on a side table that nobody really reads anymore. The walls have some marks from where chairs have bumped into them over the years. We keep a water dispenser in the corner, though it rattles a bit when it’s running. Vijaya Nagar is a busy place, so there is always the sound of horns and engines in the background while we work. It’s just how it is around here. We don’t use any fancy computer systems for everything; a lot of our notes are still kept in paper folders stacked on the shelves behind the main desk. The ceiling fan wobbles slightly on its highest setting, but it keeps the air moving during those humid afternoons. We just focus on seeing whoever walks in and making sure the files are in the right order. It is a plain, functional space where we spend most of our waking hours.
