If you walk through Mahesh Market in Balepet, you'll find my office at 122/13. I’m on the 1st floor. If you’ve ever been to Balepet, you know how busy and packed the streets are. It’s a hub of activity. I, Makam Nagaraja Gupta, have been working out of this spot for years. Mahesh Market is a place where a lot of trade and business happens every single day. My space on the first floor is a bit of an escape from the noise of the street level, though you can still hear the shouting and the horns. It’s a small office, mostly filled with my records and a couple of chairs. I don't have any assistants or a big team. I do the work myself. The lighting isn't the best, so I have a couple of extra lamps on my desk. Balepet is one of those old areas where the buildings are close together and the history is everywhere. I like being part of that. People come by mostly for my advice or to settle some business matters. I don't use any fancy software or big screens. Just a pen, paper, and my experience. It’s a very direct way of working. The stairs up to the first floor are a bit steep, so you have to watch your step. It’s a simple, honest place where I spend my hours from morning till late afternoon. Usually, I take a short lunch break around two.
