Mahendran

This is the place run by Mahendran, located at 133/1 Race Course Road. We are tucked back on Aarey Road, right behind the Jyoti Bookstall in Basavangudi. It’s a well-known spot because of the bookstall, so we usually tell people to look for that first. We’ve been operating from this little corner for a good while. The space isn't very large, but it’s enough for what we do every day. Basavangudi has a certain old-world feel to it, and our shop fits right into that. We deal with whatever comes through the door. Some days it’s paperwork, other days it’s helping locals with small tasks or supplies. There’s a lot of walking traffic near the bookstall, so we see many different faces throughout the day. We have a small table where we keep our logbook. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we’re usually too busy to worry about that. It’s a practical environment. We know most of the people who walk by and stop for a chat. Being behind the bookstall makes it a bit quieter than being right on the main Race Course Road. We just keep the doors open and get on with our work. It’s just a regular local business doing its thing in a busy part of town. We don't make a big fuss about things, we just keep things running.
