Mahaveer Selection

Our shop is in Mahaveer Plaza, which is at number 28 Nehru Road in the Gandhi Nagar area. Gandhi Nagar is always buzzing, and there is never a dull moment when you’re working here. We focus on our selection of goods, trying to keep things that people actually want to buy for themselves or their homes. The plaza itself has been around for a while, and we’ve seen plenty of other shops come and go. We try to keep our space organized, but it’s a constant battle with all the new stock coming in every week. Nehru Road can be a nightmare for parking, so we see a lot of people who are in a hurry or looking stressed. We try to keep things calm inside the shop. We aren't trying to be the biggest or the most famous place in Bangalore; we just want to do a good job with what we have. A lot of our day is spent folding things, tagging items, and chatting with the other shop owners in the plaza. We take our tea breaks together when things are slow in the mid-afternoon. It’s a community of sorts. We don't use any high-tech systems for everything; we still write a lot of things down by hand in our ledgers. It works for us, and it keeps things simple. That’s just the way we like to run Mahaveer Selection.
