Mahalakshmi Fancy & Novelties Stores is at 34 Shanti Plaza, which is part of the Paresh Industrial Complex in Agrahara Dasarahalli. Since we are in an industrial area, the surroundings are quite different from a typical shopping street. There are many trucks and workers moving about all day long. Our shop is a bit tucked away, so you have to look for it. We sell a variety of fancy goods, some cosmetics, and small gift items. It is not a glamorous place at all. The plaza is an older building and it shows its age in some spots. We don't have a large staff, usually just one or two of us are here. We keep the shop open for long hours to accommodate the people working in the nearby factories. We don't use any fancy marketing or have a website. We just rely on people walking by or hearing about us from their coworkers. Sometimes the shop gets a bit dusty because of the industrial work nearby, so we have to clean the shelves quite often. We don't have a big budget for decorations, so the shop looks very functional and plain. But we carry a lot of items that you can't always find in other places nearby. It’s a practical business for a practical area. We enjoy the busy energy of the complex and getting to know the regulars who work in the different units around us.
