Operating out of Chikkadugodi in the Lokhandwala part of Andheri is something else. The traffic alone is enough to make you tired before the day even starts. We have this small office space here. It is usually filled with cables, some old hardware, and papers that we should probably file away better than we do. It is a bit of a squeeze when more than three people are inside at once. We don't have those fancy glass partitions you see in the big corporate parks. It is just desks pushed together. The air conditioner makes a weird rattling noise, but it keeps us cool enough. People are always rushing past outside. This part of Mumbai never seems to go quiet. We spend our hours trying to get things sorted out for people who call us. It is mostly technical stuff that we just handle without making a big fuss. Sometimes the internet acts up and we all just sit around for a minute. We know the neighbors well, the guys at the tea stall and the delivery boys who come by. It is just a practical place to get work done. We don't bother with fancy slogans or anything. We just open up in the morning and do what needs doing until the sun goes down over Andheri. It gets quite dark in the small alleyway then. We just lock the metal door, make sure we haven't left any lights on, and head out to join the evening rush. It is a long day, but that is how life is here.
