M R Engineering

M R Engineering is tucked away in Bilekahalli at Krishnabag 18. It’s an industrial sort of spot, not really the place for a nice walk, but it suits what we do. We have some machines that make a fair bit of noise throughout the day. I’ve worked here long enough that I don't even hear the humming anymore. My clothes usually have a bit of oil or grease on them by lunchtime. That’s just how engineering work goes. We take on all kinds of small jobs that come our way from around the area. It’s not always easy, sometimes a machine breaks down or a part doesn’t fit right and we have to start over. There’s no big boss in a suit telling us what to do. We just look at the drawings and get to it. The space is a bit cramped with all the metal scraps and tools lying around. We try to sweep up every evening but it’s back to being messy by ten the next morning. It’s a small operation, just a few of us who know how to handle the equipment. We don't have a fancy lobby or anyone to answer the phones. Usually, if the phone rings, one of us just wipes our hands and picks it up. We’ve been at Krishnabag 18 for a good while now and we know the neighborhood well. It is a noisy place but it is ours.
