M Lakshman

You can find M Lakshman at 630 Nagarabhavi. We are inside the GIDC Estate area. It’s right behind the Peninsula Hospital. Having the hospital there makes it easy to give people directions. The estate is full of small warehouses and workshops. Ours is number 630. It’s a big space with high ceilings. It gets quite cold in the mornings during winter. We have a lot of stuff stacked up against the walls. It’s not very tidy but we know where everything is. Nagarabhavi is a busy side of the city. There is always construction happening nearby. The roads are a bit bumpy inside the estate. We’ve been here for years. My desk is near the front door so I can see who is coming. We don't have a big team, just a few of us. We share stories and drink tea when there is a break. The hospital sirens are a constant sound in the background. You stop noticing them after a while. Peninsula Hospital is a big landmark for us. Our building is plain concrete. No fancy glass or anything like that. We are just M Lakshman. This is where we work and spend most of our time. It’s a practical place for what we do. Nothing more and nothing less. We just keep going every day at 630. It is a long day but it is good.
