Lotus Clothings Pvt Ltd is based out of Bangalore, right in the middle of all the noise and traffic of 560092. We handle a lot of garment work here. It's mostly just sewing, checking buttons, and packing boxes into the back of trucks. The weather in Bangalore is usually nice, which helps when we are moving heavy rolls of fabric around the floor. We aren't a huge multinational company with glass walls. We have some sewing machines that have been with us for a long time. They make a lot of noise but they work fine. Sometimes we stay late when a big order needs to go out, and other times it’s quiet enough to actually hear the birds outside. We hire people from the local area who know how to handle a needle and thread. It’s hard to find good workers who stay, but we have a core group that has been here for years. Bangalore has changed a lot since we started, with all the new buildings going up, but our routine stays pretty much the same. We drink a lot of coffee to keep going. We don't do flashy ads or anything. We just make the clothes and send them to the shops that ask for them. It’s a simple way to make a living, even if it gets stressful when the power goes out. That’s our life here at the factory.
