Little Italy Ristorante Bangalure

Even though the name says Bangalore, we are actually located at Kodoth House in Mudoor, which is out near Sulliya in the Dakshina Kannada district. It’s a very different setting than a big city. We are surrounded by greenery and it’s a lot more rural here. The restaurant is part of the Kodoth House area. It’s a bit of a journey to get to us, but it’s a beautiful part of the country. We focus on Italian food, which is a bit unusual for this specific location, but people seem to find us. The kitchen is the heart of the place, and we spend a lot of time prepping fresh ingredients. It’s not a fast-paced city bistro; it’s more relaxed. We have a small staff, mostly people from the local area. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. We just open the doors and cook. The weather can get very rainy during the monsoon, which slows things down, but we just keep the kitchen running. It’s a quiet life here in Sulliya. We do our best to keep the place clean and welcoming for anyone who makes the trip out. It’s a family-style environment where we all chip in with everything from cleaning tables to washing dishes. We just enjoy making good food and living in this part of the state. Most nights we close up early because the roads are dark. It’s a simple business but it keeps us busy enough. We grow some of our own herbs in the back. It feels right for the location.
