We run Leather Craft & Apparel from the first floor of a building on Tumkur Road. It’s located in the IV Block of Peenya, which is a massive industrial area. If you’ve ever spent time in Peenya, you know it’s a lot of factories and small shops all packed together. Being on the first floor means we are a bit away from the direct dust of the road, but the sound of the traffic on Tumkur Road is always there. The shop is where we handle all the leather work and apparel making. It’s a craft that takes a lot of patience and some old-fashioned tools. The space is filled with the smell of tanned leather and the sound of sewing machines running. We aren't a big corporation. It’s just a group of us working on 1861st Floor. We don't have a flashy showroom. Most of our space is taken up by cutting tables and rolls of material. It gets busy during the middle of the week when we are trying to finish up orders. Tumkur Road is always packed, so getting here can be a bit of a trek sometimes, but we’ve gotten used to the rhythm of the traffic. We just focus on the stitching and the details of whatever we are making. It’s a practical shop for people who appreciate the work that goes into leather goods. We keep things humble and just keep working.
