Le Meridien

Our place is right here in the middle of Bangalore. It’s a big building, but when you work here, you realize it’s just a lot of small tasks that keep it all together. From the front desk to the kitchen, everyone is just trying to get through the day's list. We have people coming in from all over India and other countries too. It can get pretty noisy in the lobby when a big group arrives, but we are used to it by now. The carpets need vacuuming, the lights need checking, and there is always something to do in the back offices. We don't use those shiny brochures to talk about ourselves when we are just hanging out in the staff room. To us, it’s just the place where we work. Bangalore has changed a lot over the years, and we’ve seen the streets outside get way more crowded. Sometimes the air conditioning acts up or a guest is a bit grumpy, and we just handle it as best as we can. It’s not about being perfect; it’s about being there. We have some staff who have been here for ten years or more, so it feels like a second home for a lot of us. We just keep the doors open and the rooms ready, and that’s about the long and short of it.
