Laxmi Novelties

If you are walking down Railway Station Road in Kumbarpet, you will find us at the R M Complex. We are at shop number 1. Being so close to the station means there is always noise and people rushing about. It can get a bit loud with the trains and the traffic, but we are used to it by now. The shop itself is filled with all sorts of novelties. We spend our mornings dusting the glass counters and arranging the stock. Kumbarpet is a crowded area, so space is always tight. We have to make use of every inch of the walls to hang things up. People often pop in while they are waiting for their commute or just passing through the market area. It is a bit of a squeeze when more than three people are inside at once. We don’t really do much advertising or anything. People just see the sign for Laxmi Novelties and walk in. It gets dusty because of the main road, so cleaning is a never-ending job for us here. We keep a mix of things, some for kids and some for the house. It is just a basic shop that has been part of the street for a while. We know the other shopkeepers around here too. Sometimes we share a tea when things are quiet in the afternoon. It's just a regular way to spend the day, really.
