We are situated at number 9 in the Basavanagudi GIDC area. Lankesh Vara Pathrike is mostly about the smell of ink and the sound of the printing machines running. It’s an industrial zone, so it isn't the quietest place to work, but it suits what we do perfectly. We’ve been involved in publishing and printing for a long time. It’s not a glamorous job. There’s a lot of heavy lifting with the paper rolls and making sure the ink levels are just right for the press. The office is tucked away in the back where it’s a bit quieter for editing and planning the next run. We have a small team of people who have been with us for years. We aren't trying to compete with the huge media houses in the city. Our focus is more on the local stories and getting the paper out to the people who actually want to read it every week. The GIDC layout is a bit confusing for newcomers, so we often have to give directions over the phone. We don't have a big corporate mission or a fancy reception area. It’s just a place where we work hard to put words on paper. Sometimes the machines break down and we have to fix them ourselves, which can be a real headache. But when the fresh copies come off the press, it feels worth all the trouble. We just keep doing our thing, day after day, without making much noise.
