Down here in Bangalore, we are set up at 652, 4th Phase, New Town in Yelahanka. It is quite a bit away from the main city center, which is actually a relief because we do not have to deal with the absolute worst of the traffic every day, though it is still pretty crowded during peak hours. Yelahanka has changed a lot since we first started here. There are so many more buildings now and it feels much busier, but our little corner remains pretty much the same as it always was. The office is just a functional space. We have our computers, our chairs, and a small corner where we keep the kettle. We are not really into the whole tech-startup vibe that people usually associate with Bangalore these days. We are a bit more old-fashioned than that. We just come in, do the work that needs doing, and go home. On rainy days, the metal roof nearby makes a lot of noise, and it can be hard to hear each other, but we manage just fine. We have a good routine going after all this time. Most of us have worked together long enough that we do not even need to talk much to know what the priorities are. We share some snacks in the afternoon and complain about the heat like everyone else. It is not a glamorous life, but it is our life and we like the neighborhood.
