Lakshmisha Associates

You can find Lakshmisha Associates on the second floor of Maruthi Pearl Plaza, which is at D/7 in Basavanagudi. It’s a bit of a climb if the lift is acting up, which happens more than I’d like to admit. The office isn’t huge, but we’ve managed to fit all our desks and filing cabinets in there. Basavanagudi is a nice place to work because of the old trees and the slightly slower pace compared to the rest of the city. Most of our work involves a lot of paperwork and meeting with people who have various things to sort out. We don’t have a big sign outside, so people usually have to look for the building name first. I’ve been sitting at the same desk for years, looking out at the street below. It gets a bit noisy when the market is in full swing nearby, but you get used to it. We drink a lot of coffee here to stay awake through the boring parts of the day. There’s no fancy lobby or a receptionist to greet you; you just walk in and we see how we can help. The floor is a bit scuffed from all the shoes coming in and out, and there’s always a stack of folders waiting to be filed. It’s just a regular office where we do our daily tasks and try to get home before the evening traffic gets too bad. It is a practical space for practical work.
