Lakshmi Novelty Store

Lakshmi Novelty Store sits right on Fort Bus Stand Road in Sanjay Nagar. We are in the Shankarappa Complex at number 6. Being near the bus stand means we see a lot of people just passing through. They might be waiting for a bus to arrive and decide to step in to buy a keychain or a small toy for their kid. The road outside is always busy with buses and autos making a lot of noise. Inside the shop, it is a bit quieter, though we have a radio that plays the local station most of the day. I have been working here for quite some time now, and I know which buses are running late just by looking at the crowd outside. The shelves are packed with all sorts of small things, from hair clips to school supplies. It is hard to keep it all organized because people pick things up and put them back in the wrong spots. I do not mind it too much; it gives me something to do when the shop is empty. The lighting in the back of the store is a bit dim, so I have to use a torch sometimes to find things. It is a simple shop for simple needs. We are not trying to be anything big. Just a local spot where you can grab what you need before catching your ride home. The rent goes up every few years, but we stay put.
