Our place is located over in Singasandra at No. 11-12/277/88, which can be a bit tricky for people to find the first time they visit us. The neighborhood is always buzzing with activity, especially with the shops nearby and the local traffic. We mostly stay inside the building, focusing on the heaps of fabric that come in every week. It gets pretty warm in the afternoons, so we usually keep the fans running at full speed. You will see a few of us standing near the entrance having tea when there is a break in the schedule. The walls are lined with samples and old patterns that have been there for ages. We don't spend much time worrying about how the office looks because there is always something more urgent to handle. Sometimes the delivery vans get stuck in the narrow lane outside, and we have to go out and help them navigate. It is just the way things go around here. We know the neighbors pretty well, and we all help each other out when someone needs a hand. The floor is usually covered in small scraps of thread and cloth by the end of the day. We sweep it up, lock the doors, and come back to start over. It is a simple routine, but it keeps us busy and the days go by fast in Singasandra.
