Our office is situated at number 98, on the 2nd Main in the 2nd Stage of the 3rd Block here in Bangalore. It is a typical government-style setup where we handle a lot of things for tourists who want to see the sights around Karnataka. We have maps and old brochures spread out on the counters, and the walls have pictures of temples and waterfalls from across the state. The furniture is a bit worn out from all the people sitting in the chairs over the years. We get a lot of travelers coming in with questions about bus schedules or where to stay in the hills. It can get a bit chaotic when a large group arrives all at once, and we are scrambling to find enough forms for everyone. We don't use a lot of fancy technology; we still rely on our printed lists and the knowledge we have in our heads. The street outside is usually busy with people going to work or the local shops. We spend our days talking to people from all over, trying to help them figure out their travel plans without making things too complicated. Sometimes we run out of the popular booklets, and we have to tell people to come back the next day. It’s a bit of a messy process, but we eventually get everyone where they need to go. We just stay focused on the daily traffic. The phones ring a lot too, mostly from lost people.
