You can find this place at H-32 Gokula Elphinstone Road, inside the Shriram Sadhana Apartments. It is more of a personal setup than a big corporate office. Working out of an apartment complex has its own pace that is different from a regular shop on the street. You see the same neighbors every day and the security guards know who is coming and going through the main gate. The space is filled with books and files, mostly things that have been collected over many years of work. It is quiet here, which helps when there is a lot of thinking or writing to do. I spend a lot of my time at the desk looking out towards the road where the trees are. The Gokula area is quite busy, but being tucked away in the apartments keeps it a bit calmer for me. Visitors come by sometimes, usually just one or two at a time because it is not a large space for meetings. We don’t have a big reception area or any fancy signs outside to show where we are. It’s just a room where the work actually gets done. Most of the day is spent answering calls or sorting through documents that need attention. It’s a simple way to operate, without all the extra noise of a commercial building. Sometimes the lift is slow or under maintenance, so people just take the stairs to the floor. It’s just a regular part of being in this building. The apartment has been the base for a long time.
