In Pondicherry, specifically over in Muthialpet, we’ve got our shop. We are at number 49 on Marriamman Koil Street, right near M. Padmanaban’s place. It’s a typical street in Voc Nagar, usually quite lively with people coming and going. We do engineering and contracting work, which means we are often out at different sites across the area. When we are at the office, it’s mostly to sort out the bills or talk to suppliers. The building is just a regular house turned into a workspace. It’s got a bit of a salty breeze coming off the coast sometimes. We aren’t some big multinational firm; we’re just local contractors trying to do a solid job on every project. Our desks are usually covered in blueprints and half-empty coffee cups. We've got a lot of old tools we probably should throw out, but they stay in the corner just in case. Sometimes the neighbors pop in for a chat. It’s that kind of place. We’ve been working out of this street for a good while, and most folks around here know what we do. If a pipe leaks or a wall needs fixing in a big project, we’re the ones getting the call. It’s not always easy, especially when the weather gets really hot and humid, but we keep at it. It’s a simple life of work and community here in Pondicherry.
