We have our main office for Kingfisherairline at 34 8th Main, 3rd Stage in Pillanna Garden, Bangalore. This is not the big airport terminal where you go to catch a flight; it is more of an administrative spot tucked away in a residential part of town. Pillanna Garden is an older neighborhood, and our building fits right in with the others on the street. Handling various bits of airline coordination and paperwork is what we do here. There is always a lot of talk in the office about flights, schedules, and where the crew needs to be. Usually, the room is filled with the sound of people talking on their headsets or typing. We have been at this 8th Main address for a few years now. It can be a bit of a climb if you are coming up from the main road on foot. We do not have a big shining sign or any flashy lights on the building. It is just a place where the actual work happens behind the scenes. Drinking a lot of tea and coffee helps us stay awake during the long shifts. Since it is an airline business, things are happening at all hours of the day and night. We have maps and flight schedules pinned up on the walls. It is not a polished corporate lounge, just a place where we solve problems. Most of us have worked in the travel world for a long time and we just keep things moving along.
