Kesvy & Company is located at 24 Seshadripuram Main Market in the Pethapur area of Gandhinagar. Being near the Mahalakshmi Temple means we hear the bells and the morning prayers quite clearly. The market is always crowded, with people pushing carts and vendors shouting out their prices. Our place is right in the thick of it. It’s an old building, and the walls have seen better days, but it’s where we’ve always been. We deal with whatever comes our way during the business hours. It gets quite hectic on festival days because of the temple nearby. The streets get blocked, and you can barely walk, let alone move any goods. We usually have the doors open to let some air in, though it brings in all the market noise too. It’s a practical setup, nothing for show. There’s a lot of paper shuffling and people stopping by to ask questions or just to say hello. The Gandhinagar area has changed a lot over the years, but this little corner of Seshadripuram feels pretty much the same as it did a decade ago. We just keep the shop running, handle the daily tasks, and watch the world go by from the front step when things slow down for a minute or two in the afternoon. Sometimes the rain makes the street muddy and everyone huddles under the awnings. You get used to the smell of incense from the temple mixing with the smells of the vegetable market. It’s a busy life but it is what we know.
