My name is Keshavamurthy S N and I spend most of my time at the Paras Industrial Estate. We are tucked away on Ramchandra Lane in the Kach Pada area of Bangalore. Being in an industrial estate means there is always a lot of heavy lifting and the sound of machinery in the background. It’s a dusty part of town, especially when the trucks are moving in and out of the lane, but it’s where the real work happens. Our spot here is near the Bangalore GPO, so getting mail and packages isn't too much of a hassle. The workspace itself is quite large because we need the room for all the equipment and materials. It’s not air-conditioned or particularly comfortable, but we aren't here to relax. We have a small area partitioned off for the paperwork, though the desk usually ends up covered in tools anyway. I’ve lived in Bangalore for most of my life and I’ve seen it grow from a quiet city to the massive hub it is now. Kach Pada still feels a bit like the old days though, with small workshops and families living close by. We don't have a big marketing department or a website that looks professional. Most of our work comes from people who just know us in the industrial estate. We show up, we do the job, and we go home. It’s a simple cycle that has kept us going for years and I hope it stays that way.
