Karun Kumbera Architects & Urbanist

We are based in Cooke Town near the Rajiv Gandhi Chaupati Ara 7 area. It is a busy part of the neighborhood, and Karun Kumbera Architects & Urbanist has been sitting in this spot for a bit. Being urbanists means we think a lot about how buildings fit together on a street, not just one house by itself. Our office is usually filled with maps and big sheets of paper. It gets a little dusty sometimes because we keep the windows open to catch the breeze. There are always a few of us arguing over where a window should go or how a park should look. We do not have a fancy receptionist or anything like that. If you come in, you will probably just find someone hunched over a desk. We spend a lot of time visiting sites around the city to see how things are actually being built. It is a lot of walking and taking notes. The work can be slow sometimes when we are waiting for feedback, but we keep busy with small sketches. We like being in Cooke Town because everything we need is right around the corner. It feels like a real community here. We just want to make sure the things we design actually work for the people who have to live in them every single day. That is pretty much what we do from morning until evening.
