If you’re looking for Karnataka Roadlines, you’ll find us over in Karwar, right behind the Arts and Science College. We operate out of Tukaram Nivas in Maria Nagar, on KHB Road. It’s a bit of a specific spot, near M. Govind’s place. Karwar is a beautiful town, but we’re mostly focused on the transport side of things. Our office isn't much to look at—it’s practical and fits what we do. We spend a lot of time coordinating trucks and making sure deliveries are on time, which is harder than it sounds with the roads being what they are. There’s always someone coming in to drop off a manifest or ask about a shipment. The air smells a bit like the sea since we're in Karwar, which is nice when the wind blows the right way. We aren't trying to be the biggest transport company in India, just a reliable one for the people here. It gets dusty in the office with all the paperwork and the doors being open for drivers. We drink a lot of tea and talk about the routes. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from sunrise to sunset. We’ve been in this Maria Nagar spot for a good while, so most of the locals know where to find us if they need something moved. We just get on with it and try to avoid any unnecessary drama or complicated systems that don't really work.
