Karnataka Novelties is at 159 Tankshal Road, right opposite Malabar Lodge in the Chickpet area. If you have ever been to Chickpet, you know how crowded and busy the lanes are. It’s a very old part of the city. Our shop is quite small and tucked away among many others. We sell mostly fancy goods like threads, ribbons, buttons, and small gift items. The space is narrow, so we have shelves all the way up to the ceiling. We have been here for years, and the shop has a lot of history in its walls. It is often very noisy outside with all the carts and people shouting, but that is just part of being in Chickpet. We don't have a computer or any modern equipment. We do all our math on paper or in our heads. The shop doesn't look like a modern store; it’s more of a traditional marketplace stall. We know all the other shopkeepers around us, and we often help each other out. It feels like a small community in the middle of a big city. We don't do any promotion or advertising. People find us because they are looking for specific items that are hard to find elsewhere. It’s a tough business with so much competition, but we stay open every day and do our best. The lighting isn't great, but we know where every single item is kept on the shelves.
