Kakarla Agros

Running Kakarla Agros in Yeshwantpur at Chaitanya Dham 43 is a lot of work but it keeps us connected to the land. We handle things like seeds, fertilizers, and other stuff that farmers and local gardeners need. Yeshwantpur is a major hub for all things agricultural so there is always a lot of energy and movement around the shop. We have heavy sacks piled up and the smell of the earth and plant food is always in the air which I actually quite like. People come in early in the morning before the sun gets too high to get what they need for the day's work. We don't go in for any big talk about missions or visions because we are too busy hauling bags and counting stock. The floor is usually a bit dusty and there are always lists of prices pinned to the walls. Chaitanya Dham is a well-known spot so we get people coming from quite a distance to see what we have in stock for the current season. My hands are usually a bit dirty from handling the products but that is just part of the job. We try to keep things simple and give people what they ask for without trying to sell them things they don't actually need. It is a practical business and we have built good relationships with the regulars over the years just by being consistent and showing up every day to open the shop shutters.
