K N Krishna Rao

Working out of 23 Mahathma Gandhi Road means we are right in the middle of everything. K N Krishna Rao is the name we go by here. The office is close to HareKrishna Road and the High Ground area, which is actually quite nice because there are still some big trees around that give a bit of shade. The building itself is an older one, and the walls are thick, which helps keep it cool when the sun is really hitting the pavement outside. We’ve got a couple of desks and a lot of books that haven't been moved in years. People usually find us by looking for the landmarks around MG Road because the traffic can get so confusing with the one-way streets. Every morning starts with opening the shutters and letting some air in, though you mostly just get the smell of exhaust and street food. It’s a solid place to work, even if the stairs are a bit creaky. We see a lot of people walking by on their way to the park or the shops nearby. It’s a simple setup without any bells or whistles. We just sit here and do what needs to be done. Sometimes the power goes out for an hour and we just sit and talk until it comes back on. It’s just the way life goes in High Ground. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot over the decades, but our little corner stays pretty much the same day after day.
