K Manjunatha Rao Bhonsle

My place is in Cottonpet, specifically at 1 Cottonpet 5th Cross. It is right opposite the Jain Temple, which is a good landmark because the streets here can be very confusing for someone who doesn't live here every day. I have been in this area for a long time, watching the buildings change. The office is small and filled with old files and books that have been sitting there for years. There is a heavy wooden desk where I sit most of the day, and a couple of plastic chairs for whoever drops by to talk. It is quite noisy outside because of the busy market and the temple bells, but you get used to the sound after a while. I usually have a cup of coffee from the small stall around the corner in the afternoon when things slow down. The building is old, and the walls could definitely use some fresh paint, but it feels like home to me. I don't really use a computer much for my work, I still prefer writing things down in my large ledger. Sometimes my son comes by to help me with the digital stuff when it is necessary. It is a slow-paced life compared to the newer parts of the city. I know most of the shopkeepers on this street by their first names. We talk about the weather or the price of things while we wait for the day to pass and the lights to come on.
