Jose Sabastain & Associates

We are located on the 1st floor of the Andrew Building at 109 Mahathma Gandhi Road. MG Road is always a whirlwind of people and cars, so being up on the first floor gives us a little bit of distance from the noise. Jose Sabastain & Associates is the name on the door. It’s a heavy door that makes a loud thud when it closes. Inside, the ceilings are high and the rooms feel a bit drafty. We have stacks of files everywhere because we haven't quite moved everything to the computer yet. I’ve been coming to this building for years. The stairs are made of stone and are a bit worn down in the middle from all the feet that have climbed them. There’s a small balcony where I stand sometimes to get some fresh air, though the air on MG Road isn't exactly fresh with all the buses. It’s a very traditional office setup. We have big wooden desks and chairs that creak when you sit down. The tea lady comes by twice a day and that’s usually the highlight of the afternoon. We don’t do anything fancy with the decor. It’s just a place to get the paperwork done and meet with people who need our help. It’s a busy life here in the Andrew Building, but we are used to the rhythm of it by now. It is a lot of reading and writing, and sometimes the light isn't great.
