J Furtado Architect And Planners is based at number 13 in Richmond Town. It’s an old part of the city, and our office feels like it fits right in. We’ve been here for quite some time now. The building has a bit of character, which is a nice way of saying it’s a bit old and has its quirks. We have a few rooms filled with desks, books, and heaps of architectural plans. It can get a bit messy during a big project, with papers spread out everywhere, but that’s just part of the process. Richmond Town is a good area, though it gets quite congested during the rush hour. We don’t have a big flashy entrance or a person sitting at a front desk waiting to greet people. Usually, you’ll just find one of us working away in the back or looking at maps. We aren't into the corporate way of doing things. We prefer a more relaxed atmosphere where we can just focus on the plans and the planning. We don't have any fancy brochures to hand out. If you want to know what we do, you just have to ask us directly. It’s a straightforward setup. We like being in this part of town because it feels established. It’s not a shiny new office, but it’s where we do our best work. Just a regular bunch of people at a regular address. We always have fresh pens on the table.
