Our office is at 11, Sagar Apts, which is in Swastik Park in the Chembur area of Mumbai. Being in an apartment building means it feels more like a home than a corporate headquarters. We are on one of the middle floors, and we have a view of the other buildings in the park. Chembur is a busy part of the city, but Swastik Park is a bit more settled. We have converted the rooms into workspaces, so there are desks where there used to be beds. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze with all the filing cabinets we’ve added over the years. We’ve got the typical Mumbai humidity to deal with, so the fans are always on full blast. Most of us take the local train or buses to get here, so the morning starts with everyone cooling down and sharing stories about the commute. We don't have a big cafeteria, just a small stove in the corner for making tea and warming up tiffins. It’s a very practical way to work. We aren't trying to impress anyone with fancy furniture. We just need a place to stay organized and get our tasks done. The neighbors in the building are used to us being here by now. Sometimes we meet them in the lift and talk about the building maintenance or the weather. It is just a regular Mumbai workspace in a regular residential colony.
