Our setup is in Flat No 27 at Om Murugan Apartments. This is down in Lakshmi Layout, on the Sixth Cross in Munne Kolala. It’s near the Marathahalli post office area in Bangalore. Working out of an apartment is quite common in this part of town because it’s close to everything. We’ve got the office for Ionidea India Pvt Ltd set up in the rooms of the flat. It’s a bit tight when everyone is in at the same time, but we manage just fine. We have desks along the walls and a lot of cables running across the floor to keep the servers and computers going. Since we’re in Marathahalli, the traffic outside is always a nightmare, but once you’re inside the apartment, it’s surprisingly calm. We spend our days dealing with the India-specific operations. Most of our work is done on the web, so we don't need a fancy storefront. The kitchen in the flat is where we make our tea and sometimes store our lunches. It feels a bit like home, which is nice in a way. The neighbors are mostly families, so we try to keep the noise down. Sometimes the water supply in the building gets a bit erratic, but that’s just life in a Bangalore apartment. We aren't trying to impress anyone with a big lobby, we just focus on the code and the data we have to process. It is a very simple and functional way to work.
