We are based out of Cheruvattakattu House in Chingavanam. It’s in Kottayam, down in Kerala. Being away from the big city centers has its own pace. It’s a lot greener around here than what you see in the metro areas. Our setup is pretty simple. We operate from this house, which has been part of the local landscape for a long time. It’s not a typical office building. It has a more personal feel to it. We handle a lot of the local logistics and coordination from here. The post office is right in Chingavanam, so that makes things easy for sending mail. Most days it’s just the sound of the birds and the occasional bus passing by on the road. We don’t have fancy uniforms or a big reception desk. It’s more like sitting in a living room and getting work done on laptops. People in the village know us. We’ve been here for years, and it’s a good spot to stay grounded. Sometimes the monsoon rains make things a bit slow, but we just keep at it. It’s a different way of working compared to the high-rise offices in Cochin or Trivandrum. We prefer it this way. It feels more real and connected to the place we live. We just do our bit every day without making a big fuss about it. It’s a quiet life but we stay busy enough with all the tasks we have to finish before the day ends.
