You’ll find us over at Brigade Corner, which is right on Kanakapura Road in the 7th Block of Basavanagar. It is a loud area because of all the buses and cars constantly zooming past. Our shop isn't very big, so we have to stack things pretty high to make everything fit. It can get a bit cramped when more than three people are inside at once. Most of our day is spent reorganizing the shelves or checking what came in the morning delivery. We’ve been at this spot for a few years now and have gotten to know the people who live in the apartments nearby. They usually drop in on their way home from work. It’s funny how you start to recognize everyone by what time they pass the window. We don't really do anything flashy. It’s just a regular local business trying to keep things moving. The floor is a bit uneven in the back, so you have to watch your step. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon, and we just sit outside on the steps until it comes back on. It’s a good time to catch up on the news or talk to the neighbors. We aren't trying to be the biggest place on the road, just a steady one. We usually close up once it gets dark and the street lights come on. It’s a simple life here in Basavanagar.
