Indian Airlines

This is the local office for Indian Airlines here in Hubli. We are located at Girani Chawl on the 4th Cross of Karwar Road. The place is looked after by Saraswati and Mohan Hiremani. It’s a very local neighborhood, not at all like a big airport. We handle a lot of the local coordination and paperwork from this spot. Hubli is a busy city and Karwar Road is always full of trucks and people moving about. Being in a chawl means we are right in the middle of the community. It’s not a fancy corporate space with glass walls. It’s just a simple room with some desks and old cupboards for our files. We’ve been at this 4th Cross address for many years. We don't have any promotional talk to give out. We just help people with what they need and keep our records straight. The building is quite old and the paint might be peeling in a few spots, but it’s where we work every day. It’s a practical way to have a presence in this part of Karnataka. We know most of the people on the street. It’s just a regular job for us, and we try to do it without making things complicated. We show up, handle the airline business, and go home. There is always a bit of noise from the road, but we are used to it by now.
