Image Makers & Mannequiens

Our business, Image Makers & Mannequiens, is tucked away inside the Papaiah Compound in O. M. B. R. Layout. It’s a bit of a hidden spot, right behind the SRR Kalyanmantap and the Domino's Pizza over in Chikka Banswadi. You can usually smell the pizza while we’re working on the mannequins. It’s a bit of a strange job to some people, having all these plastic figures standing around the workshop. We spend our days fixing them up, painting them, or getting them ready to be sent out to stores. It’s a lot of hands-on work and it gets pretty messy with the paint and the materials we use. The compound is usually quiet except for when the delivery bikes come through. We’ve been here for a while and we like being a bit off the main road. It gives us space to work without too many distractions. Our shop is just a practical space with tools scattered everywhere and mannequins in different stages of being finished. It’s not a polished store by any means. It’s a workshop through and through. We just focus on getting the shapes right and making sure they can stand up properly. It’s a living, and it’s what we know how to do. Sometimes it’s long hours, especially when a big order comes in, but we just get on with it. It’s just us here in Chikka Banswadi, doing our thing every day and making sure the figures are packed carefully before they leave.
