I work out of Room 15 at the Govt General Hospital in Shorapur. It’s a busy place and people are always coming and going through the hallways. Durugesh is the name on the door. It is located in the Gulbarga district, which gets quite hot most of the year. My desk is usually covered in papers and some files that need sorting. The hospital itself has that specific smell of cleaning supplies and medicine. People come here from all over the local area including places like Machamoor. It’s not a fancy office by any means. There’s a ceiling fan that makes a bit of noise while I talk to people who walk in. Most days start early before the sun gets too high. I see a lot of different faces every day. Some people are nervous and some just want to get their business done quickly. I've been here for a while now and the routine stays pretty much the same. Sometimes the power goes out for a bit and we just wait it out. Outside the window you can hear the traffic and people calling out to each other. It’s just a normal part of life here in Shorapur. We don't have many decorations on the walls because we are mostly focused on the work at hand. If you are looking for Room 15, you just follow the main corridor past the entrance. It's tucked away but manageable to find if you ask the hospital staff.
