Shalom Apartments isn’t where you’d expect to find a business like ours, but we’ve been in Flat No 105 for a good while. Davis Road is actually quite nice, especially with all the trees in Richards Town. It’s much quieter than the main parts of Bangalore, which helps when you’re trying to focus. We share the building with families, so we have to be careful not to make too much noise in the hallways. The office itself feels more like a home than a workplace because of the layout. We’ve got desks squeezed into the rooms where bedrooms used to be. It’s a bit tight when everyone shows up at once. We handle a lot of data and communication here. It’s mostly just sitting at the computers and making sure the records are updated correctly. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait for the backup to kick in, which gives us a few minutes to chat. We go through a lot of tea and biscuits during the afternoon slump. There’s a certain routine to it that everyone has gotten used to over the years. We don't have fancy signs or anything, just a small nameplate on the door. It’s a simple operation, really. We just focus on getting the work done without much fuss. The neighbors are mostly used to us being here by now, and we try to be respectful of the shared space.
