Peenya Industrial Estate is a massive place, and we are tucked into the 1st Stage on the 6th Cross at M/71. If you've ever worked in Peenya, you know it’s a world of its own. There’s a specific smell of cutting oil and exhaust in the air that never really goes away. We’ve been at this location for years, and we’ve seen the neighbors change and the roads get patched up more times than I can count. Our workshop is where we spend most of our waking hours. It’s full of machines that have been with us for a long time—some newer, some that we have to coax into working every morning. We do engineering work, and it’s mostly about solving problems that other people don’t want to deal with. We don’t have a fancy showroom or a bunch of marketing brochures to hand out. Usually, when someone comes through our door, they’ve got a broken part in their hand and a frustrated look on their face. We take a look, see what can be done, and give them a realistic timeline. Sometimes we stay late when a job is urgent, and other times we’re just waiting for material to arrive so we can start. We eat our lunch together at a big wooden table in the back. It’s a basic life, and the work is hard, but there’s a certain satisfaction in seeing a machine go back together and knowing it’s going to work. We just keep moving forward, day by day, in this little corner of Bangalore.
