Hr Access Pvt. Ltd. is based out of an apartment in Kaggadaspura. We’re in room 201 of the Vars Clarmount building on 6th Main. It’s a residential area, so it’s fairly quiet compared to the main roads of Bangalore. We’ve been running things from here for a while. The office feels very much like a home because it actually is one. We have a small setup in the living room and one of the bedrooms. It’s a comfortable way to work. We deal with HR tasks, so we spend a lot of time on the phone talking to different people and looking at their backgrounds. It’s a lot of paperwork and digital files. We have a small table where we eat our lunch and sometimes we just talk about the news or what’s happening in the neighborhood. The apartment building is nice, and we know most of the people who live in the other units. We don’t have a big corporate office with a lobby or a receptionist. If someone comes to see us, they just ring the doorbell like they would at any other house. It makes the whole thing feel a bit more personal and less stiff than a regular office. We’ve got a few plants on the balcony that we try to keep alive, though they sometimes look a bit dry. It’s a simple, honest way to make a living and we’ve gotten used to the rhythm of this place and the neighborhood around it.
