House Wife

My name is Renuka and I live at 26/38 Appayanna Street in the Dodda Mavalli area of Bangalore. I listed myself as a House Wife because that is exactly what I do every single day. My life is mostly centered around this house and this neighborhood. Dodda Mavalli is an old part of Bangalore, so the streets are quite narrow and there are always people chatting outside their doors. My day starts very early with getting the house ready and making sure everything is in its proper place. It is not a company in the traditional sense, but running a home is definitely a full-time job with no days off. I have lived on Appayanna Street for many years now, and I know most of my neighbors by their names. We share news over the compound walls and help each other out with small things like groceries or mail. It is a simple life, but it keeps me busy from dawn until dusk. I do not have a mission statement or a fancy title. I just look after my family and keep our home running as smoothly as I can. Sometimes the traffic in Bangalore makes it hard to get out for supplies, but I have learned the best times to go. The house is always full of chores to do, whether it is cleaning or cooking or fixing something that broke. That is my life here.
