Hotel Shivani

Hotel Shivani is tucked away in Yashwanthpur, right near the Varasiddi Vinayak Temple. If you know Bangalore, you know how crowded the Subedar Palya area can get, especially on festival days. I’ve been working at the desk here for a long time. The building is No 78 on the 1st Main road. It’s a practical place for people who need to stay near the temple or have work around the station. Every morning starts with the sound of bells from the temple and the smell of breakfast from the nearby stalls. The rooms are basic, we keep them clean and make sure the fans are working. It isn't a five-star place with carpets and expensive art, but it does the job for someone looking for a bed. I spend a lot of time checking people in and out, or answering the phone when someone is lost in the lanes of Yashwanthpur. The traffic outside is always humming, and sometimes the power goes out for a bit, but we have a generator that kicks in eventually. We see all kinds of people, from families traveling to see the deity to workers who just need a place to sleep for the night. It's a bit noisy because of the main road, but that's just part of being in this part of town. We just try to keep things running smoothly without too much fuss and making sure guests have what they need.
