Hotel Regency

Our hotel is right across from Tribuvan Theatre. It’s been there for as long as anyone can remember. Being in the heart of the city like this means there is never a quiet moment. The area around 87 and 88 is always packed with people coming for the movies or just walking through to get to the market. We see a lot of different travelers coming through our doors every week. Some stay for a night while they finish some work in town, while others are just passing through. The building itself has its quirks, like any older place in Bangalore. We spend a fair bit of time fixing small things here and there. It’s just part of the job. In the mornings, the smell of breakfast from the nearby stalls drifts in. We usually start our shift early to make sure everything is ready for the guests who are checking out. It can get a bit hectic during the weekends when the theatre has a big release. Finding a parking spot near here is almost impossible after midday. We’ve lived and worked in this neighborhood for years, so we know all the shortcuts and where to get the best chai. It’s not a quiet life, but it keeps us busy. We like the energy of the street and the fact that we’re right in the middle of everything. We just do our best to keep things running smoothly for whoever walks in.
