Hotel Ivory Tower

We are way up on the 12th floor of the Barton Centre, which is at 84, M.G. Road. It’s a bit of a trip in the elevator, and sometimes you have to wait a while because the building is full of offices and other businesses. Being that high up means you don't hear the traffic from M.G. Road as much, which is a relief because that street is always jammed. Hotel Ivory Tower has been here for quite a while. The view is probably the main thing people notice, you can see over a lot of the city rooftops from the windows. It’s not a brand-new building, so the walls have some marks and the carpet is a bit worn in places, but we try to keep it clean. I spend a lot of my day just checking the hallways and making sure the staff are doing their jobs. Most of our guests are here for work in the surrounding buildings. We have a small area where people can sit, but it’s not very big. M.G. Road is the heart of everything here, so there is always somewhere to go once you go back down the lift. It feels a bit strange being so high above the ground sometimes, especially when the wind blows hard against the glass. We just focus on keeping the rooms ready for whoever comes in from the elevator and making sure the lobby light stays on.
